Paradise Park Garden Centre, Newhaven
During my four-year tenure at Paradise Park Garden Centre, I managed extensive shop refits and updates to retail and catering areas. My hands-on engagement with staff and mentorship of emerging team members contributed to their long-term success within the business.
Mayberry Garden Centre, Portslade
I played a pivotal role in launching Mayberry Garden Centre in 2010, from designing the shop floor layout to training new staff. As the first Branch Manager and later Site Director, I led the business to achieve a £4m+ turnover.
Paradise Park Visitor Attraction
In three years, I led a significant investment and improvement programme at Paradise Park Visitor Attraction, resulting in doubled turnover. I spearheaded comprehensive back-of-house improvements, including implementing a cashless system, and introduced new gardens, play equipment, and museum features.
Paradise Park Aglow
I led the conception and design of a winter light trail, achieving remarkable success with ticket sales exceeding predictions fivefold in the first year and a 78% sell-through rate in the second year. This project gained significant media coverage, becoming a local sensation.
Purchasing- Tates of Sussex Garden Centres
With 15 years of purchasing experience, I have successfully doubled the turnover of Christmas departments through innovative approaches and a new buying system. My expertise lies in sourcing high-demand products, negotiating terms, and performing data analysis to drive sales.
EPOS- Tates of Sussex Garden Centres
I managed the rollout of a new EPOS system across four sites, collaborating with Corby and Fellas. My role included stakeholder engagement, training workshops, and ongoing feedback, ensuring continuous system improvements and effective report writing.
Catering- Tates of Sussex Garden Centres
My comprehensive experience in catering spans from menu planning and costings to allergens management and restaurant design. I have successfully led numerous redesign projects for both front and back of house operations.
